Full Time School Admin and Finance Assistant

- Pay Scale: C-D depending on experience.
- FTE £24796 – £27254.
- Actual Salary pro rata to term time only £18379 -£20751

We’re looking for a professional, organised, and friendly Administrative and Finance Assistant to join our team to support our children, families and staff and help keep our school running smoothly. You will also support pupil welfare, including first aid and day‑to‑day queries. Please note this role includes a 30-minute daily lunchtime duty.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the first point of contact for parents, carers and visitors arriving at the school.
- Ensuring effective and timely coordination of communication through face to face, email and telephone with parents, visitors and relevant staff in a professional, courteous and supportive manner.
- Maintaining and updating records and information systems in line with GDPR.
- Recording attendance of pupils in line with school policy and procedures.
- Adhering to school absence procedures.
- Controlling visitor access to the school in line with and supporting the school health and safety and safeguarding procedures
- Administration of school admissions, school tours and staff contact lists.
- Coordinating school events and offsite visits
- Providing first aid support and maintaining school medical supplies.
- Assist with procurement of supplies under school financial management protocols
- Managing financial administration processes including payments, financial reconciliation, invoices and receipts.
- Administration of club organisation and invoicing.
What we’re looking for:
Essential
- Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
- A professional and strong communicator with excellent people skills; a reliable team member warm, approachable and child‑centred, who values positive relationships with children and adults.
- Financial and general administration experience with strong accuracy in record keeping.
- Strong ICT and communication skills (email, Microsoft Office, digital systems).
- GCSEs in English and Maths to grade C or above (or equivalent).
- Flexibility and adaptability to a busy school environment, resilience and the ability to work under pressure.
- Calm, organised and a considered decision maker able to work independently, using initiative and good judgement.
- Experience in an administrative role handling confidential information.
Desirable
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures.
- Experience in a school environment.
- Familiarity with Bromcom MIS.
