Securing the future of deaf children and young people
An exciting and rare opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading schools for deaf children and young people in a teaching role. We are seeking to appoint a Maternity cover Teacher of Science - Biology, to support the special educational needs of our deaf pupils.
The Teacher will be responsible for the development and provision of outstanding teaching across the Secondary and Sixth Form.
We look forward to appointing an enthusiastic and committed professional who can bring additional expertise and skills to our team.
A brief overview of the Teacher of Science - Biology tasks will be to:
- Ensure all students are able to thrive and engage in both academic and functional learning in order to achieve their highest potential
- Facilitate the development of independence and higher level thinking skills
- Plan and execute a diverse programme that meets varying individual students needs in their Science learning
- Maintain and develop the high quality of teaching and learning within Science
- Are aware of the impact of different levels of deafness and language delay; planning and teaching in ways that are fully accessible for all our students
