Nursery Manager
- Salary: £23,000 per annum
- Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Contract: Term Time (including INSET days) + 4 weeks initially

We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and dedicated Nursery Manager to join our Early Years team.
Dair House is a thriving School and Nursery where a passion for learning flourishes in a welcoming, happy, and nurturing atmosphere. Our Nursery provides a joyful, stimulating and secure space where children aged between 2 and 4-years-old can explore, play and learn with confidence.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to inspire our children. The Nursery Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and day-to-day running of the school's nursery provision. The role ensures a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children can learn and develop in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, while supporting the school's ethos and values.
As the Nursery Manager, you will:
- Lead, support and develop the Nursery team, fostering a positive and professional working environment;
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery, including staffing, rotas, and ratios;
- Ensure full compliance with relevant EYFS regulatory standards and safeguarding requirements;
- Create a positive environment where children and practitioners feel valued and supported;
- Deliver a high-quality, play-based curriculum aligned with EYFS principles;
- Maintain the warm, family culture that makes the Nursery feel personal and welcoming;
- Monitor children's development, including planning, assessment, and progress tracking;
- Ensure every child's individual needs and interests remain central to everyday inclusive practice;
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, hygiene, and safeguarding at all times;
- Manage nursery resources, equipment, and budget effectively;
- Build strong relationships with parents and provide regular updates on children's progress;
- Lead parent meetings, reports, and nursery events;
- Work collaboratively to drive excellence across the EY provision;
- Support transitions into Reception and collaborate with wider school staff;
- Contribute to inspections, school initiatives, and the wider life of the school;
- Report into the Head of Early Years.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- A full and relevant Level 3 EY qualification or above;
- Significant experience in an EY setting;
- An in-depth knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and inspection requirements;
- Paediatric First Aid qualification;
- An inspiring, nurturing and child-centred approach to leadership that supports both staff and children;
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills;
- Clear and confident communication skills with children, families and staff;
- A passion for supporting confidence, independence and individual development;
- Ability to build positive relationships with parents, staff, and external partners.
Desirable
- Level 5 or 6 Early Years qualification;
- DSL Qualification;
- Proven experience leading, motivating and developing a team in an EY setting;
- Previous Nursery Manager experience.
