Site Assistant

We are a large primary school with fabulous children looking for a Site Assistant to join our busy site team. Under the direction of the Site Manager the team is responsible for ensuring that the school site, facilities and the environment is safe, secure, well maintained and clean at all times, for the school to operate smoothly and efficiently.
The successful candidate will meet the criteria outlined in the person specification, and:
- be knowledgeable of the importance of the safeguarding of children within a school setting.
- be able to demonstrate a strong awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements and site security procedures in a school.
- have practical experience and be confident in carrying out a range of minor repairs, maintenance tasks, emergency cleaning, and basic DIY duties.
- have a trade and/or maintenance background, ideally with painting and decorating and/or landscaping experience.
- be able to undertake physical tasks including lifting, carrying, working at heights and using equipment safely to undertake the duties of the post.
- be reliable, professional, proactive and want to make a positive difference.
- be organised, flexible and have initiative, with effective interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and IT skills.
- be self-motivated with a willingness to adapt and learn new practices and procedures.
Salary range £29,014 to £30,847 per annum (dependent on skills and experience), Level 4, point range 8 to 12. Working Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 10.00 am to 6.30 pm and Friday 10.00 am to 6.00 pm (daily 1 hour lunch break), and occasional weekends as required. This is a full time post with a minimum annual leave entitlement of 26 days plus statutory bank holidays.
