Overview
Susan Daughtrey Education (SDE) is seeking enthusiastic, high-quality teachers to work with academically able and highly motivated pupils, delivering our well-established 11+ Courses. Teaching takes place after school during the week and/or at weekends. This role offers clear progression opportunities for suitable candidates to also teach our Year 5 11+ courses, with longer-term career opportunities available within SDE.

CURRENT VACANCIES

• Langley - Start date: May 2026

As our current teacher has been promoted to a school Headteacher role which requires her full dedication, we are recruiting a teacher to deliver three Saturday classes: 10.00am – 11.30am, 12.00pm – 1.30pm & 2.00pm – 3.30pm from May this year. As this is a current Year 4 Foundation Course, there is planned to be a period of handover and transition from the current teacher.

• Amersham - Start date: January 2027

Due to expansion, we are recruiting a teacher to teach two Sunday classes:
10:00am to 11:30am & noon to 1:30pm from January 2027.

• Aylesbury - Start date: October 2026

Due to expansion, we are recruiting a teacher to teach two Saturday classes:
9.30am – 11.00am & 11.30am – 1.00pm from October this year.

• Earley - Start date: October 2026

Due to the planned retirement of a teacher who has been with SDE for over 12 years, we are recruiting a teacher available to teach two Saturday classes:
9.30am – 11.00am & 11.30am – 1.00pm.

What the Role Involves

• Teaching small classes of motivated Year 4 pupils following a detailed, structured lesson plan.
• Lessons prepared by Susan Daughtrey M.Ed., the 11+ tutor and author.
• Access to pre-recorded lesson videos as part of weekly preparation.
• Delivering Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning lessons using SDE’s proven methods.

Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from teachers who have:

• A strong academic background.
• UK Qualified Teacher.
• At least 5 years’ classroom teaching experience (ideally KS2).
• The ability to teach KS2 Maths, English, VR and NVR to a high standard
  (Extensive training provided, particularly for VR and NVR techniques).
• An excellent professional reputation and a passion for high-quality
  teaching.
• Availability to teach after school and/or at weekends in Langley, Amersham, Aylesbury or Earley (depending on the role applied for).

What makes SDE different?

• Start teaching classes of Year 4 (Foundation Course) students so you have time to settle in at SDE before taking on the additional responsibility of preparing Year 5 students who are in their final stage of 11+ preparation.
• You will have your own allocated Tuition Centre Assistant to help with in-class administrative tasks (such as marking the class tests and recording homework scores) and for safeguarding purposes, so you are never on a premises with SDE’s students on your own.
