Specialist Advisory Teacher

We have an excellent opportunity for a Specialist Teacher to join our Learning Support Service here at Wokingham Borough Council, on a full or part-time basis. This is a permanent post however secondment may be considered for the suitably qualified applicant.
You will join a small, experienced team within the Educational Psychology Service, supporting schools and developing tailored provision for children with complex literacy and numeracy needs.
We are looking for a collaborative, motivated teacher with relevant qualifications and experience of supporting children with literacy and numeracy needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Advise SENCOs, teachers and parents/carers through consultations and regular surgery sessions.
- Assess children with complex literacy or numeracy needs and, where appropriate, provide direct intervention.
- Research and share current evidence-based practice.
- Develop and deliver specialist training and resources.
- Collect, analyse and report service-impact data, working with education, Children’s Services and health partners.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified teacher with a teaching degree and recent school and/or specialist teaching experience.
- Specialist teacher/assessor qualification.
- Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally complex literacy and numeracy needs.
- Experience of data collection and analysis.
