Are you a natural leader who can turn lunchtime into the best part of the school day?

We are seeking an energetic, organised, and highly motivated Midday Supervisor to lead our lunchtime team. If you are passionate about child development and have the ability to inspire both children and staff, this is the perfect leadership role for you.

You will manage a team of up to 10 Lunchtime Support Assistants, ensuring that our midday break is a masterclass in structure, safety, and smiles.

The Role

As the Midday Supervisor, you are the conductor of the lunchtime orchestra. You will ensure that while the children are having fun, the “engine” behind the scenes—the staff, the equipment, and the transitions—is running like clockwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a team of 10, ensuring they are proactive and using their initiative in their designated zones.
  • Strategic Play: Oversee the delivery of structured games, ensuring that equipment is rotated and utilised effectively.
  • Accountability & Standards: You will be responsible for the “vibe” of the hall and playground, ensuring it remains a safe and happy environment.
  • Coaching & Support: Brief your team daily, providing guidance on positive behaviour management and ensuring every assistant feels supported in their role.
  • Health & Safety Oversight: Act as the lead point of contact for lunchtime safety, ensuring risk assessments are followed and incidents are recorded accurately.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Leadership: Experience in managing people, ideally in a school, youth, or community setting.
  • A Proactive Growth Mindset: The ability to see the “big picture” and move staff resources where they are needed most.
  • Great Communication: The ability to liaise effectively with the staff to ensure a seamless transition from class to lunch.
  • Resilience & Joy: A calm head under pressure and a genuine passion for creating a fun, safe environment for primary-aged children.
  • A proactive “can-do” attitude and a commitment to the safeguarding of our pupils.
  • A great sense of humour!

The Winchcombe School is a super friendly, vibrant community where every staff member plays a vital part in our children’s success. Come and join us!!!!
