A Caring Christian learning environment that inspires each individual to fulfil their unique potential and become a responsible, concerned and active member of God’s world.
Burghfield St Mary’s is a village school, with a strong link to Burghfield St Mary’s Church in a vibrant and inclusive community, providing a strong Christian ethos and a happy and caring environment with supportive families and Governors. Our school values provide the pathway to our successful school. We adopt a whole school cross curricular approach to our curriculum, which achieves a high level of engagement. Around a third of our children come from a military service family, something we feel makes our school a really special place.
Our school offers:
- “a nurturing, supportive culture where pupils thrive and flourish, both in their academic achievements and in their personal developments”;
- “Pupils who are polite, thoughtful and caring… respect each other and celebrate the unique differences in each other”;
- “a school ethos which encourages pupils to succeed and mature into confident self- assured learners”;
- a well-staffed, proficient team with a commitment to raising attainment and to their own personal development;
- strong partnerships with our local community;
- a supportive and highly engaged Governing Body;
- an outdoor environment area for learning.
We are looking to appoint an individual who demonstrates:
- the skills to support the Headteacher in their role to drive the school vision forward;
- a thorough knowledge and understanding of the primary curriculum;
- at least 5 years successful and recent teaching experience in the primary age range;
- experience in leadership in the primary age range through subject or team management;
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- a commitment to uphold the Christian ethos of the school;
- a commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of our school community.
