Grade L31, £99,924–L38, £118,373 pa (starting point and salary will be determined
on appointment, subject to experience. Contract full time, permanent.
Based at the SEBMAT Offices - Lynch Hill Enterprise Academy, Slough, SL2 5AY

Job Purpose
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an inspiring Director of Growth and Business Development to support Slough and East Berkshire C of E Multi-Academy Trust (SEBMAT) with the strategy to deliver highly effective and efficient Growth and Business Development, including Educational Traded Services. This is an exciting opportunity to join SEBMAT and become an integral member of the Trust Executive Leadership Team.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has the ability to drive and deliver transformational and cultural change
  • Has considerable experience of education management, safeguarding and key business functions
  • Has a clear understanding of educational legislation, the statutory framework for education, new innovation and developments and how these will affect the services that SEBMAT Academy Trust must deliver
  • Has very strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others to the benefit of the Trust
  • Has the ability to forge effective internal and external working relationships at every level
  • Is an excellent communicator who is at ease with all stakeholders but particularly colleagues

The successful candidate will lead the delivery and implementation of strategic growth and business development objectives, including educational services, and ensure the smooth running of end-to-end consultation, funding, conversion and onboarding of new schools and academies.

Working alongside the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Leadership Team and the team of directors, the postholder will look to continually refine and develop services to support schools, improving synergy and leveraging the economies of scale and benefits of a multi-academy trust.

We are looking for a Director of Growth and Business Development,
including Educational Services who will:

  • Lead on the delivery and implementation of strategic growth and business development objectives identified by the CEO in conjunction with the directors and Executive Leadership team
  • Deputise as required for the CEO and work proactively with all peer colleagues, the Trust headteachers and the Executive Leadership team to support them in the delivery of the highest possible quality of learning, teaching and leadership in every academy
  • Explore and develop external networks to ensure our operating model/teams are constantly evolving and improving and that we have the best possible infrastructure to support success
  • Ensure there is a strong PR and marketing strategy which helps to further develop the Trust, its schools and develop strong positive profiles locally and nationally
  • Develop a business and growth strategy, including an education improvement offer that could be traded to other schools across the local area
  • Support the Executive Leadership Team with the conversion of any new school joining the Trust
  • Managing the operations of the Trust and oversee the effective and efficient delivery of all key infrastructure and systems and manage operations, assets, IT,  & strategic lead HR.

Probationary Period: new employees are required to complete a six-month probationary period.

Superannuation under the Social Security Act 1986:  the post holder has the right to make their own pension arrangements. They may choose to contribute to the Local Government Pension Scheme or a Personal Pension.
