We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Teaching Assistant (TA) to support teaching and learning within our two schools and help secure excellent emotional and academic outcomes for pupils. This maternity cover role provides an excellent chance to gain experience in a school setting and decide if this is the right path for you.

Who are we?
Polehampton CE Infant School and Polehampton CE Junior School are separate two-form-entry schools across two sites, which operate with one Senior Leadership Team and one Local Governing Body. The Polehampton schools are set within large grounds and have excellent opportunities for the pupils, including a swimming pool at the Junior site and Forest School provision at both sites. Both schools are proud members of The Keys Academy Trust. Our Infant school was recently rated Good by Ofsted (with an Outstanding Early Years), and our Junior school was inspected in November 2024 and achieved Good in all areas.

Key details about the role
Teaching Assistants are a vital part of our school community. Over time the role has developed significantly, and today TAs are recognised as skilled professionals who make a real difference to pupils’ learning and outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced and knowledgeable teaching staff, supporting individuals and groups to ensure that all pupils can access learning and thrive.

The role we are offering has the following key details for applicants:

• Role is sought for a January 2026 start date.
• Candidates could work in any year group (experience in Early Years would be desirable).
• Role is term-time only.
• Salary: Grade 3, Scale Point 5 – 17 (£25,584 - £25,989 FTE) (Actual salary pro-rata, depending on hours).
• Hours: 18 hours a week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - 08:30 – 15:30
• Maternity Cover, one year contract initially with the opportunity to extend.
