Our ethos is aspirational and inclusive, our staff is highly motivated, our pupils courteous and hard-working and our facilities excellent. Joining Oakbank School represents a unique opportunity to join an expanding school whilst working within a wider Academy Trust that gives excellent possibilities for professional and career development.
Oakbank School requires an enthusiastic, skilled and flexible individual to join our team and support pupils with a range of additional needs. The role will involve mentoring and supporting the learning of individual pupils and small groups under the direction of the teachers. You will do the meet and greet with the pupil each morning. We will expect you to do 1 to 1 work during a day with one of our pupils. It is important to be flexible in your approach in the support given and be willing to build a supportive relationship with the pupil. It is important to make the pupil feel safe and being attuned to their need for a break during the day. This is an opportunity to make a difference to the school experience of one of our young people.
Applicants will need to have a good standard of education, particularly written and spoken English. Experience of working with pupils with attachment difficulties, communication difficulties, dyslexia and autism would be an advantage, but not essential. The Learning Support department at Oakbank can offer a very experienced and supportive team with opportunities for training and ongoing professional development.
The closing date for the receipt of applications is noon on 13 July 2020.
