Hillcrest New Barn is an Ofsted registered ‘Good’ rated School; it offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boys and girls, aged 6–16 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexities. New Barn School takes full advantage of its beautiful settings and fosters a love for using the outdoor curriculum including forest schooling, farm experiences and horse riding. The School is within a commutable distance of Swindon, Oxford, Andover, Basingstoke and Reading, as well as other surrounding towns and villages.
We are looking to appoint a motivated and skilled SENCO who is passionate about teaching and can engage our students in education even when they may be reluctant to participate. You will be part of a strong dedicated team committed to providing our pupils with the very best outcomes through academic studies. The post holder will be expected to lead the support of learning across the school and co-ordinate flexible, person-centred programmes of study for individuals and SEMH and complex needs.
The role will suit a Qualified Teacher with the relevant skills looking to work within a demanding but rewarding and dynamic environment that makes a real difference to children and young people. The ideal candidate will have experience, or an interest, of working with pupils that can display challenging behaviour within a SEN Provision.
