School Business Manager

Grade 27 FTE £37,035.
From September 2025.
Permanent position 3 days per week.
Term time plus two weeks.

St Teresa’s Catholic Academy is seeking to appoint a highly skilled, enthusiastic, and self-motivated School Business Manager to join our administration team from September 2025. 

This is a key role within the school and is ideal for someone who is proactive, solution-focused, and capable of leading a small team while working closely with the Headteacher and wider school staff. While previous experience in a school setting would be an advantage, it is not essential. We welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience in business or the public sector who are passionate about education and making a difference in children’s lives.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who is enthusiastic, methodical, organised, and flexible, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Financial Management – Overseeing the school budget, ensuring financial efficiency and compliance.
  • Operations – Managing site facilities, including maintenance, health & safety, and security.
  • Human Resources – Supporting recruitment, staff development, and performance management processes.
  • Administration – Leading administrative systems and ensuring smooth day-to-day school operations.
  • Strategic Planning – Contributing to the school’s development plan and driving forward our long-term vision.
  • Compliance – Ensuring the school meets all legal, regulatory, and safeguarding obligations.
  • Communication – Liaising effectively with the Headteacher, staff, governors, and external stakeholders.

Key Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting and financial planning.
  • A sound understanding of legislation relevant to education and business.
  • Knowledge of school operations or a willingness to quickly develop this.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
