Pastoral/Family Worker

RG4 (SCP 11–22) £21,166–£26,317pa, pro-rata. Actual salary: £13,712–£17,050pa.
Term time, four days per week, 29 hours per week. Required as soon as possible
Occasional days to work in the holidays for meetings or training by agreement.

Geoffrey Field Junior School is a well-established school at the heart of the local community. In 2018 OFSTED described us as a “friendly and popular school” which continues to be rated ‘Good’.

We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our school as pastoral and family worker. This post would suit an already experienced pastoral/family worker or someone with other relevant experience looking to develop their skills and expertise.

You will: 

  • Have experience of working with primary aged pupils and their families or have experience of providing pastoral support and guidance. 
  • Have a good understanding of the issues that some families and pupils may encounter. 
  • Be flexible, self-motivated and able to work under your own direction. 
  • Be a team player and play an active role in our pastoral team. 
  • Have designated person safeguarding training and have experience of dealing with child protection cases (training can be provided). 
  • Be keen to be involved in aspects of wider school life.
