Literacy Learning Support Assistant 

Actual salary: £13,680–£13,950 pa, depending on experience.
Part time, 30 hours per week; 8.45am–3.15pm (includes a half hour unpaid break),
Monday–Friday. Term time only.
Fixed term contract. Required to start ASAP until end August 2021.

We have an exciting fixed term role for someone who is passionate about supporting young people in achieving high standards of literacy skills. This role would suit someone who is confident in all aspects of literacy: reading comprehension, written and verbal communication and spelling. You will work under the direction of our Assistant Headteacher, Inclusion supporting the progress of targeted year 9 students using various programmes, strategies and materials which have already been developed. The catch-up sessions will take form of a mixture of one-to-one and small group literacy intervention. You may also spend some time in the classroom environment supporting students with literacy under the direction of classroom teachers. 

If you already have experience working or supporting young people or if you are interested in gaining some experience perhaps prior to training to teach then this could be a great opportunity for you.
