Key Stage 1 Teacher with SENDCo responsibilities

We are seeking to appoint a Key Stage 1 classroom teacher, with the possibility of undertaking SENDCo responsibilities, depending on the skills, experience and strengths of the successful candidate.
Relevant primary school experience is essential. The structure of the role will be agreed based on the successful candidate’s expertise and professional interests.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Have high expectations of themselves and all pupils, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development
- Demonstrate high-quality, inclusive classroom practice and a secure understanding of how to support pupils with a wide range of needs, including those with SEND
- Show a clear understanding of the importance of ongoing assessment to inform next steps and improve outcomes for all pupils
- Be confident in identifying, assessing and supporting pupils with SEND, using a range of appropriate assessment tools
- Have up-to-date knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory SEND processes, including annual reviews, where SENDCo responsibilities are undertaken
- Be able to support, advise and guide staff to promote inclusive practice, including signposting appropriate training and resources
- Be flexible, collaborative and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have a passion for high-quality teaching and learning, excellent pastoral care and strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Be willing to lead a curriculum area and contribute positively to the wider life of the school
