L15–L21*: starting point to depend on experience and qualifications
Full time • Permanent • Required 1 September 2021
Reporting to the Governing Body
Closing date: Thursday 11 March 2021
The Governors of St Nicolas’ are seeking a dynamic and caring individual to lead the school from September 2021, following the retirement of our current Headteacher.
St Nicolas’ is a great school – it is a happy environment where children are placed at the heart of everything and so thrive in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. We are a one-form entry school, oversubscribed in recent years, with 217 currently on roll. Christian values are core to our ethos and underpin a curriculum which develops a love of learning, lifelong skills and prepares the children for the challenges that the future holds.
Together we strive to be a centre of excellence which serves our local community focusing on the Christian values of: Love/Friendship, Respect, Honesty, Courage, Thankfulness and Peace which permeate through every aspect of school life. We feel that it is very important to forge and develop strong links between the school, families and parish, promoting the spiritual and moral development of all in the school community.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the school at an exciting time through the next phase of its growth – we are ambitious for the future and start from a very strong foundation with an excellent team of teachers and staff, engaged parents and carers and strong links to the parish church, diocese and wider community.
Feel free to contact our Chair of Governors, Paul Tracey at ptracey@stnicolastaplow.com for an informal conversation about the role prior to application and take the time to familiarise yourself with school life at our website www.stnicolastaplow.com where an information pack and the application form can also be downloaded at www.stnicolastaplow.com/vacancies/
Completed applications should be emailed to Melanie Peel, Clerk to Governors at mpeel@stnicolastaplow.com and Paul Tracey, Chair of Governors at ptracey@stnicolastaplow.com
Closing date: Thursday 11 March 2021
Interviews: 25 and 26 March 2021
COVID-19: Subject to mutual agreement, compliance with government guidelines and a satisfactory risk assessment it may be possible to arrange a school visit and, potentially, conduct the interview process (in part or in whole) in person.
