‘Achieve, Believe, Care’

Due to the retirement of our current Headteacher, the Governors are seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed leader to build on the many strengths of this wonderful school. The school is a welcoming, inclusive and diverse two form entry school situated in the heart of Newbury in West Berkshire. It occupies a large site with modern facilities having benefited from a complete refurbishment and extension in recent years, making the learning environment outstanding. The children have access to extensive grounds including areas for Forest Adventures, an all weather multi-use games area and lots of outdoor creative play spaces.

The school hosts both a Language and Literacy Centre and the Local Authorities only Speech and Language Resource for children who require specialist, integrated support for their speech and language difficulties whilst following a mainstream curriculum.

There is a community closeness which is committed to a values-driven ambition for all our students underpinned by our vision of Achieve, Believe, Care.

We are seeking a Headteacher who:

  • Is able to communicate and drive a clear strategic vision for the school to further enhance its effectiveness
  • Works collaboratively, inspiring all members of the school community and will continue the school’s long tradition of inclusivity and local community engagement
  • Will be passionate about making a positive difference to children’s lives
  • Is dedicated to delivering a rich, broad and balanced curriculum
  • Has a firm commitment to pupil well-being and resilience

In return, we will offer the successful candidate:

  • Children with positive attitudes, who are happy and eager to learn
  • A cohesive team of dedicated and hardworking staff who are fully committed to the school and its pupils and keen to continue to drive the school on an upward trajectory
  • A well-established, highly skilled senior leadership team ready to work with you to achieve the best possible outcomes for children;
  • A purpose built, well-resourced and well-maintained school with a sound budget
  • A committed and supportive Governing Body who will work effectively in partnership with you
