Clerk to the Governors

Part-time, home-based £12.24–£12.43 per hour.

We’re looking for an organised, committed individual to join us as a part-time Clerk to the local governing body of Holyport CE Primary School.

Holyport is a village primary school recently graded Good by Ofsted with a dedicated Headteacher and governing body committed to continued improvement and high quality governance.

What the role involves:

  • preparing agendas and papers for Governing Body meetings.
  • attending meetings and producing minutes.
  • liaising with the Chair of Governors and Headteacher.
  • ongoing training and development.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • strong organisational, administrative and communication skills .
  • the ability to prioritise workload and to work on own initiative.
  • the ability to maintain confidentiality and act in the interests of the school at all times.

Training and support will be provided.

Hours: Governing body meetings take place five times per year and require around nine hours work per meeting. Around twelve committee meetings per year, which require around four hours work per meeting. Additional work advising governors may be required. Average of 2.5hrs–3hrs per week during term time, although some weeks will be much busier than others. Meeting dates are arranged in September for the full school year.

Location: Home-based, plus attendance at evening meetings at school. Occasional travel to training in the Oxford area.

Salary: £12.24 - £12.43 per hour
