Clerk to the Governing Body

Permanent, part time (182 hours per annum). From November 2019 as soon as possible thereafter.
Salary: Grade D.
Closing date: noon, Friday 18 October 2019.

The Governing Body of Silchester CE Primary School is seeking to appoint a motivated and efficient Clerk.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Prepare and distribute the agenda and papers in advance of each meeting
  • Clerk during meetings of the Full Governing Body, Resources Committee and Curriculum Committee
  • Prepare minutes, recording decisions accurately and objectively with timescales for actions
  • Provide advice to the Governors on governance, legislation and procedural matters
  • Maintain impartiality and respect confidentiality

Good attention to detail and the ability to manage a fluctuating workload are essential. Previous experience of clerking would be an advantage but comprehensive training is available.
