Clerk to Governors

Salary Grade G: from £18.95 per hour plus holiday pay.
Part time, covering 6 full governing board meetings and 12 committee meetings
per school year, with attendance to all relevant training events and briefings required.
Hours worked paid on a monthly or termly basis.
Estimated hours for current year approximately 150.

The governors wish to appoint a highly organised and self-motivated clerk. The clerk is accountable to the governing board, working effectively with the chair of governors, and with the headteacher and other governors. 

The clerk will ensure the smooth running of the board; preparing agendas and meeting papers, taking accurate and well-constructed minutes, giving administrative support, keeping records and up-to-date information on policies, and providing procedural and legislative advice to the governing board. They must have excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills. 

You should have an interest in education, be reliable, proactive, efficient and well organised. The role requires excellent listening and interpersonal skills. You should be professional, friendly and approachable and able to deal with confidential matters. 

This is a part-time role, covering 6 full governing board meetings and 12 committee meetings per school year, with attendance to all relevant training events and briefings required. The clerk is paid for hours worked on a monthly or termly basis. Estimated hours for the current year total approximately 150 hours. Salary: Grade G From £18.95 per hour plus holiday pay. 

Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided as required.
