Catering General Assistant 

Required for September 2024 start.
Salary pro-rata term-time: £11,040 (actual).
10.45am to 3pm Monday to Friday term time only.

Churchmead School is an exciting 11–18 with currently 610 students on role.

The successful candidate will have a passion for working in the food industry and a school environment. Hours are 10.45am to 3pm Monday to Friday, term-time only.

The successful candidate will:

  • Make a variety of fresh fruit salads
  • May be required to assist with baking cakes, cookies and hot puddings
  • Assist Chef with food prep
  • Stocking of drinks cabinets
  • Ensure food items are labelled, stored correctly and rotated.
  • Help put food deliveries away
  • Operate dishwasher and pot wash
  • Operate cashless tills at break and lunch times
  • Clean the kitchen at the end of the day
  • Able to use initiative and work as part of a team
  • Carry out other general duties as direct by the Head Chef
  • Report all accidents and unfit foods
  • Ensure that all aspects of health and safety legislation are complied with so far as the catering service is concerned
  • Adhere to the cleaning schedule is complied with and carry out cleaning as required
  • Assist with Food Hygiene Management system including daily monitoring records

Basic catering experience essential, school experience desirable, to hold or be willing to foretake Food Safety Training Certificate.
