Caretaker

All year round, permanent contract; approx. 20 hours per week (negotiable).
Grade 4, Scale 7–11: £13,132–£14,043 actual salary (£24,294–£25,979 FTE).
Start date: As soon as possible.


We are looking for a friendly and committed person who enjoys being around young children to join our Centre as a Caretaker.

The main focus of the role is maintenance of the building, health & safety, fire safety, and statutory compliance. 

The role is varied and interesting and will include:

  • Carry out day to day maintenance
  • Emergency cleaning as necessary
  • Manual handling when setting up rooms for meetings etc
  • Liaison and monitoring of contractors on site
  • Health and safety awareness and understanding
  • Maintaining cleaning stock and ordering accordingly
  • Checking & dispatching deliveries
  • Other duties include undertaking safety audits, ensuring regular health and safety checks are completed e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting, and play equipment inspections.
