The Assistant SENDCo & Class Lead is a split role, working 3 days as the Assistant SENDCo and 2 days as a Class Lead. You will work closely with the SENDCo managing the annual review process, helping to embed our SEN policy in all day-to-day operational activities, arranging and monitoring the appropriate provision and additional support for children and developing relationships with parents, the local authority and other multi agencies.
The successful candidate will be highly organised and inspiring teacher with SENDCo experience. You will be a good communicator and be a proactive team member.
Lead Practitioner Payscale.
In conjunction with the Leadership team, you will develop and implement a clear cyclic CPD strategy for the whole staff including twilights and INSET days. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing a clear, tiered induction plan for all new staff.
You will also be the Lead for mentoring trainee teachers and foundation degree students and will also be responsible for managing the appraisal process throughout the school.
There is a directed teaching time with this role of two days a week. This commitment may be class-based or an offer of specialist teaching which will be agreed with the Headteacher.
You will be an inspirational teacher with proven experience of leading an initiative at a strategic level and be able to demonstrate evidence of implementing and maintaining a culture which prioritises staff well-being and development, whilst prioritising the needs of our pupils.
