Clerk to the Governors

Pay scale 5, spinal point 12–17: £28,403–£30,928, equivalent to £14.72–£16.03/hr.
Part time, permanent.
Required as soon as possible.
This post is based on 100 hours per year during school term times.
Hours can be worked flexibly, subject to the overall required timescales.

Larchfield School is a small school with a busy and committed team of Governors.

We are looking for a part-time clerk who can:

• Effectively organise and administer the Board Meetings, liasing with those preparing papers to ensure that they are available on time and distribute the agenda and associated papers.
• Draft minutes of the meetings indicating who is responsible for any agreed action with timescales and send drafts to the Chair for review.
• Circulate the reviewed draft to all members of the committee.
• Follow up any agreed action points with those responsible.
• Manage statutory information and governance documentation.
• Maintain the online governance portal.
• Oversee governance membership and structure.
• Manage information such as up to date records of governors names and addresses, DBS checks, signed minutes, attendance records. 

The applicant should be educated to A-level or equivalent, be confident and professional, able to work flexibly and able to deal with confidential information. This post is based on 100 hours per year during school term times.

Most Board and sub-committee meetings take place 4.30 – 6pm in term time. There are usually 11 meetings per year.

Hours can be worked flexibly, subject to the overall required timescales of meeting preparation and generation of minutes.
