Wrap-Around Care Manager

Part-time – 30 hrs a week (term-time only)

Chepping View Primary Academy is seeking to appoint a Wrap-Around Care Manager to join our dedicated team and run our NEW wrap-around care service.

The role will include the following areas, working with children aged 4–11:

  • Breakfast club supervision
  • After-School club supervision
  • Behaviour management
  • Safeguarding Lead responsibility for the club
  • Planning of activities and meals
  • Leading other members of staff
  • Administration involved in running the service

Working hours will be: 7.15–9am and 3–6pm daily, plus 70 mins of administrative time a week to be used as needed.

If you are:

  • Are able to demonstrate suitable experience and/or qualifications - Level 3 preferred, Level 2 considered in a childcare/education focused qualification
  • Caring, patient, enthusiastic and creative
  • Flexible and able to work on your own initiative
  • Able to manage registration forms and monitor payments from parents
  • Able to manage a small team

And you have:

  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy (minimum GCSE grade C English and Maths)

Parent Support Advisor

20 hours per week
Times of work: 5 mornings and 2 flexible afternoon
Pay Scale: Grade 6, point 26–30
(fte £23,398–£ 26,822) pro rata (£10,913–£12,509)
Start date: September 1st 2017


The successful applicant will work with our families to support, advise and sign post them in order to:

  • Support children’s learning
  • develop their skills and abilities to manage behaviour
  • understand how to support their children’s health needs
  • learn strategies for positive parenting
  • understand the importance of school attendance
  • make links within the community
  • enhance parental engagement with the school

Links with Highwood’s class teachers, pastoral team and senior leaders will be vital. The successful applicant will therefore need good communication and strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently; managing their own time and using their own initiative. Previous experience of working with families, especially those in challenging circumstances, will be an advantage.

Visits to the school are strongly encouraged.

As a Bilingual Teaching Assistant (BTA), we will look to you to provide in-class and withdrawal support for those pupils aged 3–11 years who are learning English as an additional language.

You’ll produce visual and dual language resources to support both curriculum access and English language development, contribute to assessing pupil needs and liaise with teachers and parents.

Whilst the support of the BTA will no doubt help the children to learn English this is not the aim of the support.

Literate and a fluent speaker of English and Arabic, you will be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science and possess excellent communication skills.

You will benefit from great support and training which is specific to this role and an opportunity to embark on this will be available in July in preparation for the September start.
