We have an exciting opportunity for two Early Years practitioners when we open our brand new Nursery in September 2017. The Nursery will cater for one class and complement our lovely school where pupils achieve good standards and are cared for by dedicated and committed professionals.

  • Must hold Early Years teacher status (EYTS), Early years professional status (EYPS), Level 6 Foundation Degree or a minimum Level 3/NNEB qualification with vast experience of leading a room working in a nursery in a school setting.
  • Grade C or above in Maths and English is desirable.
  • Have knowledge, understanding and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Be willing to keep up to date with current changes to practice and legislation.
  • Be highly motivated and work well as part of a team.
  • Have ambition for continued professional development within the Early Years Foundation stage.

Level 3 Pre-school Assistant

Responsible To: Manager

Hours: Part-time (approximately 15 hours), School term time only – hours to be agreed with the Playgroup Manager/Committee prior to commencement of role.

Job Purpose: To work as a key person and as part of the pre-school team under the direction of the Manager. To provide safe, high quality education and care for young children which meets the individual needs of children attending the setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
  2. To help to set up the playroom for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.
  3. To act as a key person to a small group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognised and met.
  4. To work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
  5. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulating play experiences.
