Meadow Park Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced receptionist to join our hard-working and friendly office team.

Duties will be to provide reception duties for the school: to include answering telephone and face-to-face enquiries and to ensure an excellent standard of customer service at all times to parents, pupils, staff and visitors as well as to offer effective administrative support to the Headteacher and school.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Have experience of working in a busy reception area
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills and have previous experience of using Microsoft Office
  • Be able to work well under pressure, as part of a team and to deal positively with a variety of different people
  • Demonstrate a friendly and business like telephone manner and have the ability to converse at ease with members of the public, providing appropriate advice and information.

Site Operations Manager

The Wren School – a six form entry 11–18 secondary Free School – opened in West Reading in September 2015.

They will have overall responsibility for the school site and its physical resources; be responsible for leading, developing and supporting the caretaking team; developing and implementing a School Lettings Management and Community Use strategy and supporting the School Business Manager and other members of The Wren School team, to ensure that the school is ready to open in September 2018.

Salary is set in line with local government NJC salary scales 32–36 (full time equivalent: £29,055–£32,233 pa), negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience.

We are seeking to appoint a friendly and self-motivated team player to provide maternity cover for one year within our office team.

You will:

  • Be highly organised and a committed person with an ability to work under pressure, working closely with our families, children, all staffing groups in the school and the School Governors.
  • Have excellent numeracy, IT and communication skills.
  • Ideally have experience of working with and managing school finances.
    • Prepare regular financial forecasting reports for the Headteacher and Governing Board, monitoring all expenditure and income.
    • Ensure all financial functions are processed within agreed school financial policy and procedures.
    • Work alongside the Site Manager to arrange, manage and invoice school lettings.
    • Ensure the school meets all requirements for the SFVS.
    • Oversee the work of the Finance Officer to approve all expenditure, payments of invoices and raising relevant purchase orders.
  • Have knowledge of HR Management and recruitment with ideally experience of working with SIMS Personnel, including completing the annual School Workforce Census.
  • Work alongside the Governing Board as Clerk to the Governors (occasional evening work required).
  • Oversee school IT systems and infrastructure alongside bought in IT support agency.
