Clerk to the Board of Governors

Carwarden House Community School is a highly regarded secondary special academy educating 128 young people with moderate learning difficulties.

Required for September 2017:
Pay Grade S7 (£3,209 to £3,786) 5.9 hours per week, term time only.


We are seeking a highly organised individual with a professional manner and strong communication skills to support the work of the Board of Governors. The board has a highly ambitious vision for the future of the school and the clerk will play a pivotal role in that work.

The postholder will provide the administrative support to allow the board to operate efficiently and effectively. They will also advise the governing body on governance legislation, procedural matters and coordinate the annual reporting requirements of the academy.

Previous experience as a clerk to a school governing body and/or knowledge of academy administration will be a significant advantage.

The hours will be worked flexibly and will include some evening meetings. Discretion, flexibility, excellent organisational and IT skills are essential elements of this role.
