Ufton Court Educational Trust is a thriving and innovative children’s charity seeking a confident Outdoor Leader to deliver high quality education. We deliver sessions both at Ufton Court and in schools. Over 11,000 children a year visit Ufton Court for enriching educational visits which breathe life into the curriculum.

What is the role?

  • You will deliver outdoor woodland education including low ropes, archery, hiking and fire lighting and more.
  • You will work with disadvantaged children to raise their aspiration and attainment
  • You will also work in History education which will involve being in costume and character using drama as a tool to make our nation’s History come to life.
  • You will work in our expert teaching team and receive full training for all the activities you are asked to lead.

Who are you?

  • You will have an understanding of teamwork.
  • You will have a full driving licence.

Salary: £20,500 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (to include two evenings per week where you will work until 8:30pm). Overtime will be paid for any additional hours above 37.5 hours per week.

History Lead (QTS)

Job Description
The UCH Lead will be focused on the historical programmes available to schools. They will work at creating, resourcing, sharing and delivering the programmes in line with the narrative events. They will need to have a full knowledge of all programmes available to schools and be confident about discussing them with schools.

The Ufton Court History Lead will:

Teaching and learning & Curriculum Development

  • Carry out teaching duties in accordance with the centre’s schemes of work and National Curriculum
  • Demonstrate and share good practice in teaching and learning
  • Develop the curriculum with the Head of Learning via a History Development Plan
  • Contribute to the development, organisation and implementation of the centre’s Development Plan

Standards and quality assurance

  • Lead and participate in staff training
  • Ensure current practice is in line with national curriculum guidance and research findings
  • Support the aims and ethos of the centre
  • Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance

Leadership and management

  • Support the Head of Learning by driving the History Development Plan
  • Understand issues relating to the organisation, ordering and funding of resources
  • Support and uphold the centre’s policies and procedures, especially regarding child protection
  • Communicate with schools regarding their programmes
  • Liaise with the Education Team Administrator

Salary: Up to £30,000k per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours/week (to include one evening per week, where you will be working until 8:30pm)
